Privacy policy
Short version: SolarDime has no accounts, no forms and no database, and nothing you type into the calculator ever leaves your browser. The page itself is a different matter: it is hosted by Cloudflare and it carries Google ads, and both of those see that a request happened. This page names every one of them.

The honest version of “nothing is sent anywhere”
You will see that phrase on the calculator, and it is true of your inputs — your bill, your state, your rate, your roof assumptions. Those are computed on your device and there is no server here that could receive them.
It is not true of the page view. Loading any web page tells the host that a browser at some IP address asked for a URL, and loading a page with ads on it tells the ad network the same thing plus the context it is serving into. We would rather say that plainly than let a good privacy claim about the calculator quietly imply a stronger one about the whole site.

There is no analytics product of our own on this site, no tag manager, no A/B testing tool, no session recorder, no newsletter platform and no CRM. If one is ever added, it will appear in the table above before it appears on the page.
Your privacy choices
Advertising is the only non-essential processing here, and it is governed by Google Consent Mode. The default this site sets is:
- Essential delivery and security: always on. Without Cloudflare serving the file there is no page.
- Personalised advertising: off until you allow it across the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, where a choice is legally required before non-essential storage. Ads still appear; they are simply not personalised.
- Non-personalised ads: the fallback everywhere. They are contextual — chosen from the page, not from a profile of you.
You can open the choice yourself at any time, from anywhere in the world, using the Privacy choices link in the footer of every page. Your answer is stored in your own browser under solardime-consent and nowhere else; clearing your site data clears it. You can also review and switch off personalised advertising directly with Google in My Ad Center.
What we store on your device
We set no cookies of our own. We use your browser's local storage for two things, both of which stay on your device:

Google and its ad partners may set their own cookies or similar identifiers, subject to the choice described above. Those are theirs, not ours.
Share links contain your assumptions
The calculator's Copy share link button builds a URL containing the values you entered — monthly bill, state, electricity rate, cost per watt, sun hours and any incentive or offset you set. That is deliberate: it is what lets someone else open your exact estimate. But it means the link is not a private record. Anywhere you paste it — a message, a forum, a ticket — those figures go with it, and your monthly power bill says something about your household. Treat the link accordingly, and use the plain page address instead if you would rather not share the numbers.
Retention
We retain nothing, because we collect nothing: there is no database, no log of your inputs and no user record to keep. What retention exists belongs to the processors above, under their own schedules, which we neither configure nor query — Cloudflare for operational and security logs, and Google for advertising data. Their policies are linked in the table.
Legal basis, and who is responsible
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies: essential hosting and security processing rests on legitimate interests in delivering the site and preventing abuse; advertising and any associated storage rests on your consent, which is what the Privacy choices control records.
Who operates this site. SolarDime is run by an independent publisher; company registration is in progress, and this page will name the registered entity and its postal address as soon as there is one to name. We would rather say that than print a placeholder that looks like a company. In the meantime the contact route below reaches the operator directly and is the address to use for any request, including one that would normally go to a registered office.

Exercising your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port personal data, to object to processing, or to opt out of sale or sharing. Two practical notes:
- For anything we hold: email the address above with your jurisdiction and your request. We will respond within the period the applicable law requires. In almost every case the answer will be that there is no record here to act on, because there is none to create — and we will say so explicitly rather than leaving you wondering.
- For your advertising profile: that data sits with Google, not with us, and only Google can act on it. Use My Ad Center and Google's own privacy tools.
We do not sell personal information, and we have nothing to sell. We do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13, and this site is not directed at them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the review date at the top changes with it. Material changes to what is processed, or by whom, will be reflected in the table above before the change reaches the page.
